Bridgets menu will not disappoint and even the most discerning guest will quickly find a new favorite on Bridgets progressive menu. This is not the old Ambler and this is not your traditional steakhouse. Kevin Clib, Bridgets owner, knows that a lot of what’s out there is ordinary, and Kevin strives on a daily basis to give his guests something out of the ordinary. KEVIN CLIB, OWNER
Kevin Clib has a destiny, and that destiny is culinary bliss. “I’ve known since I was twelve or thirteen that my destiny is to make people happy through food,” says the entrepreneur/restaurateur. Ever since he bought and rehabilitated a block of buildings on West Butler Pike and opened a tavern, and an upscale steakhouse, Clib’s destiny has become entwined with Ambler’s. The restaurateur who saved Ambler is continuing his mission with an expansion of Bridgets Modern Steakhouse in the heart of the charming, historic town.
A small town transformed for the modern era.
Originally known as the Village of Wissahickon for the North Pennsylvania Railroad depot established there in the mid-1850s, Ambler was renamed 1869 in honor of Mary Johnson Ambler, a local Quaker woman who heroically assisted during The Great Train Wreck of 1856.
A small town in the Pennsylvania’s Montgomery County, Ambler was once known as the asbestos manufacturing capital of the world but has come a long way since. With ornately crafted Victorian buildings encircling the town and row homes typical of that era’s working-class housing, Ambler has since reinvented itself for the 21st century.
Unassuming and unpretentious, Ambler has retained a historic gentility and independent spirit that are the pride of this tightly knit community. The definition of a small town (Ambler covers less than one square mile), it’s amazingly complete, with a host of shops, restaurants, bars and special events that keep the streets bustling.
